The call for tender:
The aim of the call for tender on Sustainable Mobility is to raise the involvement, in the Industry Programme 2015, of Italian companies intended to develop new products and to provide, technologically, innovative solutions. They has to be able to meet people and goods needs for more efficient and environmentally friendly mobility and transport, improving the competitiveness of the industrial system involved in the project. In the urban public transport field, the need to have a more efficient tramway with a smaller impact on urban environment, particularly in the places with high value architectural, increases strongly.
The Target:
The “Sustainable Mobility” is the main target of the SITRAM programme, because it is considered, by the companies, the decisive competitive factor in order to keep and to get new market shares. The main performances, “targets”, that SITRAM wants to improve are:
- Safety and Security;
- Energy Efficiency;
- Environment friendly;
- Reliability;
- Availability.
The Aim:
In particular, SITRAM will realize an innovative vehicle working on several and considerable on-board and wayside components. Moreover, some info-telematics components will be introduced in order to connect on-board and wayside systems. In particular a ground level supply component, that feeds energy without using catenaries, will reduce the environment impact. The main on-board innovations: materials, mechanics structures, propulsion, diagnostics and security. For the wayside: energy cache, signalling, central diagnostics control, wayside protection. Globally the project aspires to have a vehicle of competitiveness higher than the present solutions of Ansaldo and of its competitors. Therefore, it is possible to consider SITRAM as the project can satisfy the following call step:
